ORIENT

OCCIDENT
Sóc un seguidor de l'obra d'Erich From, jueu alemany, psicoanalista, sociòleg i psicòleg. Del llibre You shall be as gods (Sereu com déus) podem llegir

In the west, this renaissance of humanism is occurring today amongh adherent of Catholicism, Protestantism, and Judaism, as well as Marxist Socialism. It is a reaction of the two-toed threat which mankind faces today: that of nuclear extinction and that of the transformation of men into appendices of machine. If the spirit and the hopes of Prophets are to prevail, it will depend on the strengh and vitality of this new humanism. For the nontheistic humanists a further question arises: What could take place of religion in a worl in which the "concept" of God may be dead but which the experimental reality behind it must live? The atheistic position prevalent in the XIX century suffers from the same bias as the theistic position that of making the "concept" of God the main issue rather than the values which symbolizes. Atheism was essentially a declaration of independence from the principle of the supreme ruler rather than an answer to the spiritual problem of man.
